As a child in Greece I grew up around women who loved to sew. I would imitate them by cutting little pieces of fabric in the shape of a body and sewing them together by hand. When I went to elementary school embroidery was mandatory and I loved the touch of fabric and creating images with thread.
I studied art at Eastern Michigan University and received a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Michigan. I started traditional quilting in 1996 under the direction of Peggy Martin. From then on I became addicted to fabric which I incorporate in my recent art.
I live in San Diego with my husband Dennis and we have two wonderful children, Téa and Jonathan.
